If you're happy and you know it clap your hands

Yesterday Stella had her 3 year well visit.  She did great.  They had her do a vision chart with shape recognition, and a hearing check.  All is well with those things.  She's also in the 84% for weight and 94% for height.  She was very concerned about getting a shot and thankfully did not have to get any this time.
The other day Stella asked me if she could use my phone; she told me she had to text somebody.
The girls are taking a bath together now and they both just love it.  Ruby frantically tries to grab up every toy in the tub which makes for a fun game and Stella loves to help me wash her.

Ruby gives some tough love to the barbie

Thursday was a big day for Ruby.  Her first tooth broke through, she clapped and she made some progress army crawling forward.

This is her very cheesy grin which she gives so often.  When she is in a good mood all you have to do is just say 'hey' to her and she flashes this smile.  She really gives some good ones to her big sister.

Though Ruby is army crawling a bit she is also getting on all fours.  She hasn't gone anywhere with it yet, but I bet it will be soon.  She really had a ball this day playing with the camera's lens cap.

more adventures in the life of Ruby and Stella

This is Stella with Karis, our neighbor friend.  She really likes her and her sister and has enjoyed spending time with them this week as they've been on spring break from school.

The girls dressed up Ruby and she was not too happy about it!

Ruby got very messy one night at dinner.  I shared the video with you already, but I just love the look on her face in this photo.  It was a good thing it just so happened to be 'bath night' as well!

We went to an easter egg hunt this weekend.  Stella kept getting 'egg hunt' confused with 'acorn' and would say "Mommy are we going to the acorn?" The 'acorn' was at a nice little park; they had real bunnies there and Stella really liked petting them.

Stella did a very good job of waiting patiently for the egg hunt to start.  We could not get Ruby to look up at the camera.  She was totally engrossed in her shoes.

It was rainy this morning but thankfully cleared up.  But we did 'have' to wear our frog rain boots.

Ruby even got a few eggs thanks to her very dedicated sister.  Stella picked up so many eggs, there was no room left in her bucket.  She really enjoyed it.

"Who cares what's inside the egg, I think the outside is quite tasty!"

"Hey sis, you holdin out on me over there?"

Stella and her buddy Chase.

Had a little picnic lunch with friends after the egg hunt.

My Montage 4/22/11 at OneTrueMedia.com

Ruby got particularly messy one night and was really talking up a storm and had discovered this new noise to make. I just had to make several videos of it. And then there is Stella and her dance moves!!! What's not to love. She is so funny!

Our performer

Ready to go to gymnastics class
Today Stella was watching Cats, like so many other days.  She started putting lip gloss on her cheek.  She was doing it, she said, to put on her make-up like ths Cats have on.  Poor girl.  You can't say she's not resourceful.  Well I wiped the lip gloss off with the promise of doing some real make-up on her.  Here is the result.  She really liked what she saw in the mirror.  :)
She really got into her dance moves today.  I think the make-up took it to a whole new level for her!  :)

Sweet Ruby...she's been under the weather lately along with Stella and I.  I am really tired of everyone being sick.  Seems like we've been battling stuff non-stop since December!
The other day Stella did 4 somersaults in a row.  I told her, "Wow, Stella that's really impressive."  Later that day Stella asked her dad to get a bracelet out from under the couch. It was in a hard to reach spot.  He got it for her and she said,  "Wow, that was really impressive."  It was hilarious!!

Trying on hats

Stella had her first real gymnastics class this past Monday.  Our good friend Elizabeth is in the class as well.  This was our birthday present to Stella.  Though it was nothing to unopen she loves it here!

Her teacher is  Miss Betty and she does a great job.  It is cute to watch Stella take instructions from someone.  This is going to be so great for her.

Matt, Kandi, Reagan and Maggie came for a visit this weekend.  They actually just left.  We had a great time and some great weather. We went to the zoo on Saturday.  The elephants were the first stop.

Stella admires the monkeys and Uncle Matt admires Stella.  Who also can be a monkey some days.

Ruby's first trip to the zoo. What a cutie.  She had a good time and did well in her stroller.  Until she was hungry then all bets were off.

Taking a look at the giraffes

I can not believe Ruby is already 6 months old and sitting up in her stroller.

We stopped off in the play area at the zoo.

We tried the slide but Ruby's thunder thighs kinda stuck to the slide.

Back in Greenville

Ruby is really into tasting things these days.

and Stella is as beautiful as ever..

Sunday, April 3rd we had Stella's 3rd and final birthday party.  Everyone has three parties for their third birthday right?  Well we were very fortunate to be able to be in Indiana near the end of the month of March to celebrate Stella's birthday with family.  And once we got back to Greenville I wanted to have one for Stella that all her friends could attend.  It was a BEAUTIFUL day at Legacy Park for the celebration and we all had a really great time.   I made this cake.  You know I love cake, because I made this 3 layer cake with LOTS of frosting.  The circles I made out of Starburst candy.  You put them in the microwave to soften them; roll them out and I used fondant circle cutters to cut the circles.  It worked out really well.

This is Stella with her good friend Brady. He'll be 3 in June

All the girls were good sports and wore their hats for a bit!  Stella is so lucky to have so many friends her age.

Happy Birthday to you!  (Again)

Stella and Tess

She got a very cute Fancy Nancy book

And fun new lunch box.  Maya is helping her look at it.

Trying on a birthday gift

Tonight at the dinner table Stella saw me salting something and wanted to put some salt on her dinner.  She wanted to do it by herself and I told her no and did it for her.  (She has a history of dumping a lot of salt on things)  At this she got kind of pouty and said, "You hurt one of my feelings."
