pony tails and yoga

Ruby's off to yoga class!

Downward dog

Happy baby

Ruby's first pony tail

These girls are so precious mostly.  They are starting to bicker a bit.  Ruby likes to pester her big sis (already) and knows how to do it, and Stella loves to take things from Ruby.  You know that whole,  I didn't know that toy existed until I saw you had it and now I desperately need that toy, thing.  But they really love each other too and Stella is very good to Ruby.  She likes to give her kisses and when Ruby's upset Stella will bring her blanket to her, pat her on the back and say "it's okay Ruby"

they're growning like giraffes

I made the girls these growth charts. Stella even helped paint a bit.  Giraffe design was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest.com.
I love how they turned out.

I got the white boards in the closet organization section at Lowe's.
I painted the giraffes with regular wall paint mixed with white.  I used the original shade of wall color for the shadows on the faces.  All the spots and some detail on the face is from cut scrapbook paper.  For the black outlining and measurements I used a paint marker.  Then I put two coats of mod-podge over everything.  I attached some ribbon to the back of the board to hang them.

Fun in February

Enjoying some really warm weather here!

Our little princess girl

Super cute sisters.  Ruby came over to Stella and plopped herself down into her lap to hang out.

Fun with stickers.

Happy Valentine's Day with heart shaped pancakes to start the day off right!

Later that morning we went to Stella's classroom for their Valentine's Day party. Stella got a great stash of treats and cards from classmates.

The kids sang some cute little songs for the parents.  It's so much fun to watch them.

First trip to the circus

Sunday, February 5, 2012
Waiting to go to the circus.

Our funny fish faces

Waiting some more in line at will call to get into the show.

Yay, we are in!

It just wouldn't be complete without some cotton candy!

The girls had an excellent time!  The show was incredible.  I knew Stella was going to love it and she didn't disappoint.  I was unsure about how Ruby would do though.   I was pleasantly suprised!  She sat in my lap the entire time, did not fuss about getting down (some suckers were used to help this), she was completely into it the entire time.  It was a two hour show!  As you will see a little bit in the two videos, Ruby was so thrilled to see everything.  She would point out and look back at me as if to say, "Mom, are you seeing this!!!??"  She squeeled with pure delight when she first saw the lions and tigers, and she loved all the lights and action.  I still can not believe how well she held up.  Stella didn't want to leave when it was over and said "I want to stay and see some more!"  In the car on the way home she sid she wanted to be in the circus when she grew up.  We'll add that to the list! I'm hoping she sticks with becoming a doctor.

American Idol auditions

We were watching American Idol and Stella was inspired.  She'd stand up on her stage, which was an overturned toy crate to sing.  I was in charge of handing her the ticket after the performance and telling her, "You're going to Hollywood." We did this over and over.  She was so funny and her song lyrics were hilarious.

Dance party

We love having dance parties.  Here are some videos; a little Dee-lite and Allman Brothers.  I like to expose them to all sorts of music! :)  Enjoy!

(And I promise I did not even prompt Stella to wear the boa and shoes for the dance party!!)
